The number of victims of earthquakes in Venezuela has increased to 2,954. This was announced on July 4 by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.

"The official report. July 4, 2026. Deaths: 2,954. Wounded: 16,592," follows from the message in the Telegram channel.

He stressed that 6,462 people had been rescued. Assistance was provided to 86,794 families, 16,309 citizens are listed as victims. In addition, 190 buildings collapsed as a result of natural disasters, and 856 more were damaged.

According to Rodriguez, 29,567 personnel and 26,984 volunteers, as well as 3,281 international rescuers, were involved in the aftermath. 9486 tons of food and more than 472 thousand liters of water were distributed to the victims. In addition, 80 temporary camps have been deployed.

According to the representative of the National Assembly, 942 aftershocks were recorded.

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 25 that Russia was considering the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela. The European Union, in turn, allocated €5 million for emergency assistance to the republic.

The press service of the country's Ministry of Communications and Information (MIPPCI) reported on July 3 that the death toll from the twin earthquakes in Venezuela had risen to 2,645 people. It was noted that more than 15 thousand people remain homeless in the republic.
