During the same period, the party faced high competition in the struggle for a moderately protesting urban voter and eventually lost fourth place to the "New People".

According to APEC's forecast, the SR may gain 4-6% of the vote and take the last place in terms of the size of the faction in the State Duma. APEC estimates the probability of the party's passage to the Duma at 65%. "Fair Russia" is really strong in a number of single—mandate constituencies, Ruslan Andreev agrees, and therefore, most likely, it will pass in the State Duma with a minimum margin of 5-6%. Theoretically, it could fail by getting 4.7–4.9% of the vote, as it once did with the Union of Right Forces, but such an outcome is less likely.
