- A prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine accused the European Union of fomenting the Ukrainian conflict
The European Union (EU) pushed Ukraine into conflict with Russia, pursuing its own interests. This was announced on July 4 by Alexander Panchenko, a prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"They are businessmen. Even the money they give to Ukraine is for Ukraine to buy their old weapons from them. I think the European Union is to blame, the countries that pushed us to do this," Panchenko told the Vesti news agency.
Panchenko said he blames the EU and the countries that pushed Ukraine into conflict. He stressed that they wanted this confrontation, but not with their own hands, but with the hands of Ukrainians.
Dmitry Polyansky, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, said on June 25 that the European Union plans to directly enter into conflict with Russia after the defeat of Ukraine. He also stressed that Western countries are intensively and rapidly preparing to enter the conflict, "demonizing" Russia.
