The United States pointed to the deteriorating situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is becoming more complicated, with the Russian army facing its last serious line of defense. This opinion was expressed on July 4 by former Pentagon adviser, retired U.S. Army Colonel Douglas McGregor.

"The three so-called fortress cities [Kramatorsk, Slavyansk and Druzhkovka] <...> are theoretically the last serious line of defense, <...> the last serious frontier. <...> And once they fall, there will be no logistical infrastructure left on the Ukrainian side. Neither in the north, nor in the south, nor in the east, nor in the west," he said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

He added that the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is rapidly deteriorating. According to McGregor's forecasts, after the fall of these borders in Ukraine, a massive movement of troops to the west will begin. According to him, Kiev no longer has defensive fortifications at the level of the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 3 that Konstantinovka in the DPR had completely come under the control of Russian troops. According to him, Konstantinovka is an important settlement that the Ukrainian forces have turned into a large fortified area. He noted that, despite this, the city was completely liberated thanks to the heroism of the Russian fighters.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the same day that the capture of Konstantinovka by the Russian Armed Forces was an important stage in the destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area.
