A military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk, said on Friday, July 3, that the civilian bus was deliberately chosen as a target of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). to commit a terrorist act.

In conversation with aif.ru The expert noted that the strike was most likely carried out from a unique border area known as the border crossing point of three states — Bryansk, Chernihiv and Gomel regions. Matviychuk categorically rejected the version of an accidental mistake by the UAV operators.

The military expert recalled that on June 17, an APU drone attacked a bus carrying a children's football team en route from Gomel to Gelendzhik. Eight people were injured, including six children, and the coach's wife was killed. According to the expert, such attacks on Belarusian citizens are systemic in nature and are aimed at provoking Minsk to respond militarily before the NATO summit.

The colonel believes that Belarus will not get involved in the conflict, as it does not meet its interests. According to him, President Alexander Lukashenko is likely to rely on diplomatic methods.

At the same time, Matviychuk pointed out that attacks on the Union State would not go unanswered. He said that Russia would strengthen its anti-terrorist activities by launching massive strikes with drones, missiles and aircraft against the enemy's military infrastructure.

On the afternoon of July 2, a Ukrainian drone attacked a civilian bus en route Anapa – Minsk near the village of Krasnaya Gora. There were 19 people in the cabin who were on their way to rest.
