The Ministry of Transport has approved the expansion of parking privileges for large families

The Russian Ministry of Transport has approved changes to the methodological recommendations on parking space management in the country's cities — it is proposed to expand parking privileges for large families. This follows from the order published on July 3 on the agency's website.

The document proposes to introduce the possibility of free placement of one car belonging to a large family in paid public parking lots. If there are four or more children — for two cars.

As noted in the Ministry of Transport, this innovation should significantly expand the opportunities for large families who previously had the right to free parking for only one car. The initiative was developed by the department in cooperation with the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood.

At the end of May, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation shared initiatives to improve transport accessibility for families traveling with children. The agency plans to introduce a special road sign for parking large families, as well as conducting an experiment to provide them with discounts on taxi services.

The Ministry of Labor called on them to lift restrictions on obtaining preferential status for large families.

The day before, the State Duma proposed introducing free travel on toll roads in the summer for large families. This initiative was made by the deputies of the New People faction.
