The State Duma proposed encouraging schoolchildren for significant progress in their studies

Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov (LDPR) made a proposal to encourage schoolchildren for significant learning achievements. The appeal was sent to Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The relevant document was reviewed by RIA Novosti on July 3.

"Of course, Olympic winners, hundred-point winners and medal winners deserve recognition and support for their achievements. But at the same time, there are many students among the students whose success is expressed not in absolute terms, but in significant personal progress," explained Chernyshov.

The politician noted that the current system is mainly focused on students who are already showing high results. The parliamentarian believes that the achievements of students who, thanks to discipline and daily work, were able to significantly improve their results and overcome difficulties in mastering the program, today have practically no recognition mechanisms, although they deserve no less attention.

According to Chernyshov, lump-sum payments, educational certificates, grants for additional training or other support measures can become forms of encouragement. He added that the implementation of the initiative will increase the motivation of schoolchildren, expand opportunities for unlocking the potential of children and will contribute to the formation of respect for work and responsibility for their own results among the younger generation.

On June 25, Chernyshov proposed introducing additional family educational leave for schoolchildren for up to five days during the school year. The Vice Speaker of the State Duma proposed to provide such days at the request of parents or legal representatives with prior notification of the school. At the same time, the student must independently master the missed material, and such days should not be considered absences without a valid reason.
