An attack aircraft of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation fought off five FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region

A soldier of the assault detachment of the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces, Andrei Rezikov, fought off five FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in an open area during the fighting for the settlement of Novopodgorodnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 3.

It is specified that Rezikov was performing a combat mission and was moving to the assembly point when he was attacked by drones. According to the data from the objective control footage, the first FPV drone tried to attack the fighter from behind. The stormtrooper opened fire on him and tried to dodge, but the drone exploded nearby.

Fragments of the second UAV hit Reznikov's leg. During the subsequent attacks, the soldier continued to maneuver and use shelters, including concrete structures, and also dropped equipment to increase mobility.

Despite his injuries, he managed to give himself first aid and continued moving. After entering the forest area, the fighter took cover and waited for the possibility of evacuation, avoiding repeated drone attacks.

"As I entered the forest area, I waited there for a moment. The weather helped — it started to hail and rain. I chose the right moment, and there's a postcard next (an open area. — Ed.) it was necessary to overcome, broke a stick, used it as a crutch and moved on slowly, hiding in a shelter every few meters," Rezikov shared the details.

Later, he returned to his units and was sent for treatment. Now his condition has stabilized, he is recovering.

"The acquired skill directly at the training ground, the one that was explained, told, and shown to him. This skill helped him a lot, he survived. Well, and a little bit of luck. What struck us most was that <...> the enemy did not spare five UAV units, because even one unit can destroy armored vehicles, and here five units tried to destroy the only soldier, unarmed, disoriented, and failed," added Ivan Dolzhnikov, the squad commander.

Military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces undergo special training to counter UAVs, including training at training grounds with simulated drone attacks, explosions and psychological pressure.

On June 3, soldiers of the 433rd Motorized Rifle Regiment assault squad and scouts of the 1435th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces told the details of the liberation of the settlement of Novopodgorodnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants have created a fortified area near the settlement with reinforced concrete structures, ditches, barbed wire and intricate obstacles. The stormtroopers overcame the open areas as part of combat twos, gradually moving towards the village and preparing for a decisive assault.
