Fraudsters have begun using a new scheme to deceive Russians, intimidating them by allegedly blocking the Fast payment System (SBP) due to "suspicious activity." This was announced on July 3 by the press service of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front.

"Subscribers receive calls or messages from fake employees of banks and regulatory authorities. The victim is being intimidated by the fact that suspicious activity has been detected in the system in the chain of her transfers or a technical malfunction has occurred, which will block access to the SBP," Moshelovka's statement was passed on to RIA Novosti.

The press service reported that during "urgent verification" through an allegedly special service, fraudsters require customers to dictate an SMS code, install a malicious application under the guise of an official one, or transfer money to a "secure account."

It is noted that in July, fraudsters are particularly actively using this scheme, using the theme of linking tax identifiers to banking systems and counting on the fact that people do not know how the SBP actually works.

In Moshelovka, it is recommended not to install applications at the request of callers and not to provide SMS codes. They emphasize that no additional confirmations or "verifications" are required in the SBP, since data exchange between departments occurs automatically. In case of reports of account blocking or transfers, it is recommended to immediately end the conversation and contact the bank yourself using the official hotline number.

On July 1, the Department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that the Moscow authorities had warned about new schemes of deception in online commerce. Attackers fake websites and try to gain access to customers' bank cards. According to the mayor's office, attackers often manipulate the desire of customers to receive goods faster or with an additional discount.
