Information about the forced transition of people to the digital ruble is a myth, people will always have the opportunity to choose. This was announced on July 2 by the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina.

"Indeed, it is a myth, a horror story, that now all state employees and pensioners will be forced to receive salaries and pensions in digital rubles. This is absurd, and a person will always have the opportunity to choose what to receive a salary in, what to receive pensions in: in cash, to a non—cash bank account or to a digital ruble," she said on the sidelines of the Financial Congress of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation in an interview with IS Vesti.

Nabiullina recalled that such myths arose even during the introduction of the Fast Payment System and the Mir card.
