On the days of receiving a salary and advance payment, Russians most often direct expenses to shoes, perfumes, medicines, dietary supplements, as well as beer and low-alcohol beverages. This was reported to Izvestia on July 2 by the press service of the Honest Sign labeling system.

"On payment days, Russians close not only household desires, but also quite practical purchases: shoes, perfumes, medicines, dietary supplements, beer and low—alcohol drinks," the report says.

Such statistics are evidenced by data from the uploads of the Honest Mark labeling system. In the footwear category, large sales volumes of seasonal goods are recorded during these periods, from sneakers and boots to sandals and sandals. At the same time, remote sales are slightly ahead of offline sales in terms of quantity, but the formats are comparable in revenue.

Perfumes, perfumery and eau de toilette account for significant amounts in perfumery. At the same time, the online channel leads in terms of sales, while offline provides higher revenue.

On payment days, medicines for the digestive, cardiovascular, and nervous systems, as well as products for the respiratory and musculoskeletal systems, are most often purchased in the segment of medicines. Among dietary supplements, vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and vitamin and mineral complexes stand out in the structure of demand.

In the category of beer and low-alcohol beverages, significant sales volumes are recorded, measured in tens of millions of units.

Honest Sign notes that on paydays, a combined consumer basket is formed, which combines both consumer goods and deferred purchases.

What is the reason for this and how are employees going to react to it?

Candidate of Economic Sciences, financial analyst Mikhail Belyaev told on June 9 how not to run out of money a few days before the salary. According to him, in order to spend money wisely, you need to learn how to plan expenses. Belyaev noted that 10% can be painlessly postponed from any salary level, if it is not an absolute physiological minimum. At the same time, this amount should be deposited into a separate account as soon as income is received, he said.
