The State Duma proposed to reduce the cost of CTP for motorcyclists
The State Duma proposed to reduce the cost of CTP for motorcyclists, with such an initiative, the chairman of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, appealed to the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina. The deputy announced this in his Telegram channel on July 2.
Mironov recalled that in December 2025, the Central Bank expanded the CTP tariff corridors for most types of transport by 15%, and for motorcycles by 40%.
At the same time, as the party leader noted, motorcycles are used seasonally, in most regions no more than four to five months a year. In addition, according to statistics, motorcyclists get into accidents less often than other vehicles, he said.
"But these points are not taken into account in the current tariff policy. On the contrary, the maximum expansion of the corridor leads to unjustified tariff increases for bona fide owners of motor vehicles. It is necessary to correct the injustice and narrow the tariff corridor for CTP for motorcycles," said Mironov.
As reported on May 13, bikers aged 30-39 years (34% of applications) and 40-49 years (26%) are most often the initiators of CTP insurance events among motorcyclists. Young people drive a motorcycle relatively carefully — the under-30 age group accounts for 14% of requests.
