Malfunctions of individual components of the car provoke fuel overruns. This was stated by Dmitry Matveev, auto expert, General Director of the Moy Avtoprokat company, on Thursday, July 2. He clarified that gasoline consumption is affected by the condition of the engine and air filter.

"Gasoline consumption often increases due to a clogged fuel filter, insufficient tire pressure and wiring defects. Sudden acceleration and frequent braking force the engine to work at its limit. Therefore, it is preferable to choose a longer route, but without traffic jams, since driving in traffic jams at low speed with frequent sudden braking and acceleration significantly increases gasoline consumption," the expert said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

He added that fuel consumption is also affected by the driving style. The more aggressive it is, the more fuel it consumes, and the economical speed depends on the aerodynamics of the car.

"Gasoline consumption is also affected by the weight of the cargo being transported. Discard the external trunk and remove all unnecessary items from the car that you do not use. As for the air conditioner, the losses from its operation in modern cars are lower than from open windows, which worsen aerodynamics," Matveev emphasized.

The expert also advised to reduce trips, if possible, replacing a car trip with a walk, bike ride, or public transport.

Earlier, on July 1, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the Russian domestic market was generally well supplied with gasoline and diesel fuel, despite repairs at refineries. informs 360.ru .

Novak noted that in some cases, fuel shortages and supply disruptions to specific gas stations occur on the market, according to the website. kp.ru . According to him, such situations are mainly related to changes in logistics routes between refineries, oil depots and gas stations, writes "Moscow 24".

The Deputy Prime Minister added that vertically integrated oil companies (VICS) keep fuel prices rising at their gas stations within the inflation range.

In turn, Igor Morzharetto, an auto expert and partner of the Autostat analytical agency, told the Moscow City News Agency on June 30 that information about which gasoline was supplied to the gas station, its characteristics and class, and certificates of acceptance and transfer of products can be checked in the documents next to the gas station ticket office.
