Finland has imposed restrictions on flights over part of the Gulf of Finland
A temporary air traffic restriction zone was introduced in Finland last night in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland. This was announced on July 2 by the country's Armed Forces.
"Thursday, July 2nd <...> The Finnish Defense Forces have introduced a temporary air traffic restriction zone in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland," a message on the X social network said.
Later that day, the Finnish Armed Forces clarified that air traffic restrictions in the eastern part of the gulf had been lifted.
On the same day, the press service of the operational command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that fighter jets of the country's air force and its allies had been lifted into the air amid alleged Russian activity in Ukraine. In addition to the departure of the planes, the Polish military has put ground-based air defense and radar detection systems on high alert.
