Two people were killed and two more injured in an accident in Surgut.
A Lada and Toyota car collided in Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, killing two people and injuring two others. This was announced on Thursday, July 2, by the press service of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Yugra.
According to preliminary data from the ministry, the accident happened at about 02:20 (00:20 Moscow time) on Trade Union Street in the area of house 42. The driver of a Lada car at the age of 18 drove through the intersection at a forbidding traffic light, which led to a collision with a foreign car driven by a 36-year-old man.
"As a result of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles died at the scene of the accident before the ambulance arrived, two passengers of the Lada Priora car — young people aged 16 and 18 — were injured and taken by ambulance to a medical facility," the ministry said in a message on the Maks messenger.
The injured passengers of the domestic passenger car are currently under medical supervision.
On June 30, the main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the Kemerovo Region reported that one person was killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a regular bus. The incident occurred on the 16th km of the bypass road of the city of Mariinsk near the village of Rayevka.
