Trump called Spain not the best member of NATO
On July 1, US President Donald Trump, during a speech in North Dakota, said that Spain was not the best member of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO).
"Ah, the Spaniards. NATO members, but not the best NATO members," he said.
Trump said that the country refuses to help others, and criticized this position. According to him, after they lose control of Cuba, Guam, the Philippines and Puerto Rico, these territories will be under the control of the United States.
The American leader also noted that Cuba, after many decades, is allegedly moving towards the United States, and promised to address this issue.
At a meeting with the Secretary General of the alliance, Mark Rutte, at the White House on June 24, Trump said that NATO allies had failed the United States by refusing to help in the operation against Iran. As the politician noted, he would like simple loyalty from his allies in the alliance.
