Fico stated about the actual state of war between the West and Russia

Today, the West is actually at war with Russia over the involvement of foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on July 1 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

"Today, the Western world is actually at war with the Russian Federation, given the huge number of professional mercenaries operating on the territory of Ukraine and servicing the most important weapons systems used in this conflict," he said during his speech, a video posted on the YouTube channel of the Government of the Slovak Republic.

According to him, every effort must be made to ensure that the current situation on Ukrainian territory does not escalate into a larger conflict. Fico stressed that peace can be established only through dialogue and at the negotiating table.

He also added that he belongs to a small group of prime ministers of the EU countries who support the dialogue.

Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish Freedom Alliance party, said on the same day that more and more states were being drawn into the conflict on the side of Ukraine against Russia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on July 1 that the Kiev regime, guided by Western instructions, continues to escalate the conflict and does not abandon attempts to involve Russia's closest allies in it. According to her, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky seeks to provoke an escalation of the conflict by carrying out terrorist attacks and attacks on civilian infrastructure and the population of Russia.
