A large illegal landfill was eliminated in Aginsky in Transbaikalia

One of the largest landfills has been cleared in the village of Aginskoye in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This is reported by the ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.

We are talking about a landfill formed in 2024 outside the existing landfill. Gradually, its area increased, and a total of 17 thousand cubic meters of garbage were removed during the cleanup.

The landfill was eliminated as part of the environmental protection plan for 2026-2028. The cost of the work amounted to 8.5 million rubles, the news agency said.

According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Finance, in total in 2026, at the expense of environmental payments, the budget provided about 75 million rubles for the liquidation of landfills in 11 municipalities, as well as preparations for these works in the form of the creation of design estimates.
