- Bild reported on the evacuation of an Indian climber who had been lying on Mount Everest for 30 years.
On Everest, the identity of a climber whose body has lain on the mountain for about 30 years has been established. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on July 1.
According to the newspaper, the tourist, whom other climbers nicknamed "green boots" because of the color of the shoes, was identified only recently in connection with preparations for the extraction of the remains.
It is noted that the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) conducted a DNA analysis, which confirmed that the deceased is an Indian citizen, 47-year-old Dorje Morup.
Currently, his remains are located in the "death zone" of Mount Everest at an altitude of more than 8000 meters. It is planned that the evacuation of the body will be carried out in the summer.
It is reported that the extraction of the remains from the Tibetan side of the mountain will require the participation of at least six experienced Sherpas. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police will also have to obtain permission from the Chinese authorities in Tibet to transport the body to Kathmandu and then to India.
Yemen Online reported on June 14 that rescuers in Yemen found the body of climber Antar al-Absi, known by the nickname Spider-Man, a few hours after he fell into a crater with sulfurous waters of Damt volcano in the southern province of Al-Dali. It was clarified that he became popular on social networks due to videos in which he was engaged in mountaineering in dangerous mountainous areas without safety equipment, special equipment and even without shoes.
