A large-scale reconstruction of sewage treatment plants has begun in Kurgan

Reconstruction of urban sewage treatment plants has started in Kurgan. The communal project is considered one of the largest in the last few years, the press service of the regional Department of Construction, State Expertise and Housing and Communal Services reports.

Preparatory activities are already underway. The contractor has been clearing the area since June 26, and will begin dismantling the old structures from July 1. The main construction and installation works will begin at the end of the month.

The existing sewage treatment plants have been in operation since 1984 and have fully exhausted their resources. The deterioration of the facility was estimated at 100%, so it will actually be rebuilt. After the reconstruction, the facilities of the complex will ensure environmental safety and further development of the regional capital.

More than 10 billion rubles will be allocated for the implementation of the large-scale project, the contract has already been concluded, writes <url> news agency. The financing will come from the federal and regional budgets.

The work is carried out within the framework of the Russian Water program of the national Environmental Well-being project. It is planned to complete construction by the end of 2029, and bring the facility up to standard wastewater treatment standards in 2030.

Earlier it was reported that at the end of 2025, the modernization of the Arbin water treatment plants was completed in Kurgan. The total cost of the work amounted to about 2 billion rubles, the reconstruction was carried out for the first time in 50 years.
