Starting from the new academic year, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation will begin the phased introduction of the subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" in schools and is already developing educational materials on this discipline. This was announced on July 1 by the head of the Ministry Sergey Kravtsov.

"In the new academic year, the phased introduction of the subject "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia" will begin, and textbooks are also being prepared on this subject," the minister said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is specified that the DNCR subject will be studied from the second half of the 2026/27 academic year in the fifth grades (17 hours), and from the 2027/28 academic year — in the sixth and seventh grades (34 hours each).

The discipline is aimed at forming students' worldview based on traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. The course will explore the life paths and views of government, public, cultural figures, as well as scientists and military personnel, including heroes of a special military operation, in order to consolidate creative values based on their examples.

On June 20, Kravtsov announced that new state textbooks on chemistry, physics and biology for high school classes are planned to be prepared by 2027. It was clarified that simultaneously publications are being created for both basic and in-depth study of subjects. The Minister also said that the preparation of a series of textbooks "Step into Agrotech" is continuing, covering all eight areas of agrotechnological classes.
