Demand for used pickups has increased in Russia
In May 2026, Russians purchased 3,133 used pickup trucks, which is 19% more than in the same month last year. This was reported on June 30 by the analytical agency Autostat.
More than half (51.5%) of the secondary pickup truck market in late spring was accounted for by three brands. This is the leading Toyota with a score of 734 units, as well as Mitsubishi (502 units) and UAZ (376 units). Great Wall (276 units) and Nissan (187 units) rounded out the top five.
Among the best-selling models was the Toyota Hilux, which sold 654 cars in late spring. Next are the Mitsubishi L200 (499 units) and the UAZ Pickup (376 units). Other used pickups had market volumes of less than 200 units.
In just five months of this year, 16,000 used pickups were purchased in Russia, which is 20% higher than in January–May 2025.
As for sales of new pickups, in May they increased in Russia for the first time in the last 16 months and at the end of summer amounted to 1,520 units. And in five months, 7,435 new pickups were sold in the country.
Earlier, on June 25, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) announced that it is currently conducting certification tests of the updated Patriot SUV. Together with the restyled "Pro" and "Pickup" models, it should appear on the roads of Russia this fall.
