At the annual shareholders' meeting, Sberbank CEO German Gref compared the current economic and geopolitical situation to surviving in a concentration camp, quoting psychologist Viktor Frankl.

"We will have to live and work in these conditions, and it's completely pointless to expect anything. And we once took Frankl's words as our slogan here. <...> He said that those who hoped it would end tomorrow were the first to die. The second are those who thought it would never end. And only those who lived every day survived," the Kommersant newspaper quotes Gref as saying.
