On June 30, Honored USSR figure Skating coach Tatyana Tarasova expressed outrage over the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions only in a neutral status.

"Why is there no flag and anthem? What's wrong with our anthem and who doesn't like it? I'm just outraged that they let us in without a flag and anthem," Sport24 quoted her as saying.

At the same time, according to the coach, this decision is an important event for Russian sports.

On this day, the ISU allowed Russian athletes to participate in tournaments in a neutral status. This decision will take effect from the 2026/27 season. Admission also applies to team disciplines, including synchronized skating, team pursuit in speed skating, relay races in short track and the World Team Trophy World Team Championship.
