The priest named the best days to pray to Peter and Fevronia for the family

You can pray to the holy princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom on any day, but it is especially appropriate to address them on the dates of their church commemoration, when the attention of believers is focused on their feat of matrimony and Christian love. This was reported to Izvestia by the dean of the Baltai district of the Saratov diocese, Priest Oleg Zhilyakov.

The priest noted that in the church tradition there are established days of commemoration of saints, and it is on such dates that prayer acquires special importance for believers. However, this does not mean that you should not contact them at other times.

"We are human beings and we set certain dates for the celebration. Sometimes we forget about praying to some saints, because it is impossible to pray to all of them at once every day. Therefore, the church sets special days. But you can apply any day, and it will always be appropriate," the priest explained.

He stressed that on the days of commemoration of the saints, which are celebrated twice a year — on July 8 and the next Sunday preceding September 19 — it is preferable to visit the temple, since it is there that the common prayer of the Church is read. But if this is not possible, you can say a home prayer.

"If possible, of course, you need to come to the temple and pray, because the temple is a house of prayer, the house of our Lord. But if there is no such possibility, it will be fine and sufficient if you pray near the icon or even just mentally address these saints," Zhilyakov said.

Speaking about specific texts, he noted that believers can use traditional prayers to the wonderworkers of Murom, dedicated to family well-being and strengthening marriage. Their texts are available in open sources, including on Orthodox Internet resources.
