The attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a bus in the Bryansk region is a deliberate act of violence and aggression. This was stated on June 29 by the Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations (UN) Valentin Rybakov.

"This is a deliberate act of violence and aggression directed against the civilian population. Against children who went to relax and play sports," he said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Rybakov also called for an assessment of the incident and for those responsible to be brought to justice.

Ukrainian Armed Forces militants attacked a bus carrying a children's football team from Gomel to Gelendzhik on June 17. The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on a terrorist act following the strike, and Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered urgent assistance to all those affected. The course of investigations, which were also launched in Belarus, is under the personal control of the leader of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko.
