Georgian mercenary David Kukchishvili of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), sentenced in absentia in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) to 14 years in prison, has been liquidated in the Kharkiv region. This was reported on June 29 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"On June twenty-fifth, Major Sergey Vitalievich Kolomiets, who served as deputy commander of the artillery battalion of the 65th Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was eliminated in the Zaporozhye area, and a few days earlier, Georgian mercenary David Kukchishvili," a source told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the 49-year-old head of the Georgian Partisans formation, who later joined the Georgian National Legion (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation), was eliminated in the Kharkov direction.

On January 27, 2025, the press service of the DPR Prosecutor's Office reported that the DPR Supreme Court had sentenced David Kukchishvili, a 48-year-old Georgian mercenary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in absentia. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").
