For the period from January to April 2026, Russian exports of chocolate confectionery products reached $304 million, an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year. The physical volume of shipments exceeded 60 thousand tons, the press service of the Federal Center "Agroexport" told Izvestia about this.

They also noted that domestic chocolate was exported to 63 countries. Kazakhstan remains the undisputed leader among buyers of Russian chocolate: at the beginning of 2026, this country accounted for about 33% of the value of shipments. In four months, $99 million worth of chocolate confectionery products were delivered to Kazakhstan, which is 28% more than in the same period last year. For Kazakhstan, Russia, in turn, was the largest supplier of chocolate confectionery products with more than 70% of the total volume of chocolate imports to the republic, according to the data of the Kazakhstan Bureau of National Statistics for the period under review.

The second foreign market for Russian chocolate is Belarus. Chocolate products worth $58 million were shipped there, which is 31% more than in the same period a year earlier. Thus, Belarus accounts for 19% of all Russian exports of chocolate products.

Uzbekistan is in the third position. Shipments to this market increased by 27%, to $36 million. Russian chocolate exports to Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan turned out to be record–breaking for January-April over all the years of observation.

The top five importers of Russian chocolate in early 2026 also include Kyrgyzstan ($23 million, an increase of 22%) and Azerbaijan ($19 million, a decrease of 14%).

"Over the past four years, the volume of Russian exports of chocolate products has grown by more than a quarter, in 2025 updating another record and coming close to $ 1 billion. By 2030, we expect the figure to increase by another 60% and exceed $1.6 billion, taking into account the growth in global demand and subject to further development of the domestic confectionery industry. At the same time, export revenue can be even higher with effective positioning and promotion of Russian products abroad, building optimal logistics and responding sensitively to trends in this rapidly changing segment," Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Agroexport Federal Center, told Izvestia.

Roman Chekushov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said on June 24 that the volume of non-primary non-energy exports from Russia in the period from January to May 2026 amounted to $66.5 billion. He added that the target for the next six months is $69.4 billion and is likely to be met.
