A state of emergency has been declared in the US state of Utah in connection with a rapidly spreading forest fire, the area of which reached 290 square kilometers in a day. This was reported by the Associated Press on June 27.

"We are expecting 48 hours of critical weather, the likes of which has not been seen in Utah in the last five years," meteorologist Jason Straub said.

The fire engulfed the sparsely populated southern part of the state. The wind speed reaches 20 m / s with air humidity within a few percent, which makes fighting the fire almost impossible — on the eve of the aircraft was forced to stop flights. The flames continue to spread through the treetops. As a result of the fire, the Eagle Point ski resort in Beaver County was seriously damaged, authorities began evacuating the population, and in the Marysvale community, smoke obscured the sun and ash fell to the ground.

In response to the threat, Utah Governor Spencer Cox ordered a ban on fireworks until July 5 on the eve of Independence Day, stressing that "this year everything is different."

More than 120 homes were destroyed due to a wildfire in Georgia on April 25. It was clarified that the most destructive fire was recorded in Brantley County. It was there on April 20 that a foil balloon that flew away from a children's party hit a power line, causing sparking and a fire.
