The neurologist pointed out the danger of dietary supplements for memory problems
Maxim Sutormin, chief neurologist of the Central Federal District, warned that taking dietary supplements is dangerous in the presence of memory problems.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, June 26, the specialist noted that if memory deteriorates, you should not take "brain pills" on your own. According to him, self-medication for cognitive impairment can lead to complications.
The specialist also urged caution in taking dietary supplements. He noted that their effectiveness has not always been confirmed, and the supplements themselves can cause side effects and be incompatible with other drugs. According to Sutormin, medications should be prescribed by a doctor, since treatment must be selected individually.
Earlier, on June 22, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported that more than 19 thousand Internet resources with information about the sale of prohibited dietary supplements were blocked in Russia. Among the identified products were additives that had not passed state registration, as well as goods containing substances exceeding the established standards.
