July is rich in remakes of absolute hits. And this does not mean that developers have run out of ideas — restarting projects not only improves graphics and modernizes mechanics and management, but also adds a lot of new content. Izvestia has compiled a selection of remakes of old games and new releases that are worth paying attention to this summer.

Inside there are more than 80 unique challenge levels, a four-person co-op and a rogue mode. There is no general plot here, each of the mini-games has its own crazy atmosphere: marching birds, bodybuilders, biceps beating fruits and much more.

Ubisoft returned to perhaps the most beloved part of Assassin's Creed by the audience. The remake of the iconic pirate action game offers players a global redesign of a familiar adventure with an emphasis on seamless gameplay. The developers have retained all the iconic elements of the original, but now transitions between the sea and port cities take place without a single loading screen. The flagship Galka has received a notable upgrade: hiring unique officers now opens up access to special abilities, and the artillery arsenal has been replenished with shrapnel barrels and light guns to pinpoint the vulnerabilities of enemy ships. On land, the gameplay has undergone no less radical changes thanks to a redesigned parkour system with controlled jumps, rope descents and the ability to use stealth anywhere in the location. Together with the improved artificial intelligence, the developers have significantly reduced the overall toxicity of stealth missions by removing the mechanics of instant failure of a task when the target is lost.

Palworld

When it will be released: July 10
Genre: MMORPG

The controversial "clone" of the Pokemon series existed in early access for two and a half years, enjoying such popularity among players, which is not always the case with polished projects on release. Unlike "pocket monsters", sticks (the main assistants in the game) not only fight in tournaments, but also generally participate in battles side by side with users, explore the world, help build settlements and extract resources. By now, there are more than a hundred of them in the game, as well as over 350 items and 70 types of buildings. And by the time Early Access exits, a giant previously closed "World Tree" zone will open. Even more quests and bollards are expected to appear.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu

When it will be released: July 15
Genre: action, horror, cooperative
What to play on: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S

The developers of The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu suggest that players be afraid not alone, but together. Each "round", a company of up to four people selects weapons on their ship and goes on a treasure hunt in the island jungle teeming with unexplained monsters. A shadow in the fog, the deceptive voice of a partner — anything can be life-threatening and maddening.

Another remake of a classic hit. Released a quarter of a century ago, Halo: Combat Evolved has gained the status of a cult classic thanks to a unique formula that turned every encounter with the enemy into a dynamic tactical puzzle. The success of the combat system was based on a constant combination of mechanics. The upcoming Campaign Evolved project will refresh the visual part and offer a deep rethink of the story campaign. In addition to the redrawn levels and modern plot clips, the developers have integrated nine types of weapons from subsequent installments of the franchise into classic missions. An important gameplay innovation will be the appearance of full-fledged mechanics for intercepting enemy equipment. In addition, the remake will expand the original narrative with three additional operations within the "Operation Meteorite" storyline, as well as bring back the modifier system.
