The full moon is traditionally considered one of the most significant phases of the lunar cycle. This event is associated with the beginning of the lunar month, when much has not yet been revealed. In addition, the June full moon, which this year falls on June 30, is the first after the summer solstice, which is why it is often given special importance in various traditions and practices. Astrologer Anastasia Grokhotova told about this in an interview with Izvestia.

"The full moon has always been considered a prominent phase of the moon. Before the advent of electric light, a bright moonlit night was of practical importance. It was easier for people to navigate the night, gather together, hold common rituals, night celebrations. The full moon is easy to see, it's hard to miss, so it's convenient for the calendar," Grokhotova explained.

She added that over time, symbolic meaning was added to these practical observations, which became entrenched in various cultures and traditions.

"There is also a symbolic meaning. The full moon was perceived as a moment of fullness, result, and manifestation. What was previously hidden or just maturing becomes visible by the full moon. Therefore, many cultures associated this phase with rituals, summing up and appealing to higher powers," said the astrologer.

The expert added that traditions related to the full moon can be found in different religious and cultural systems. In particular, in a number of Eastern practices, this phase of the moon is considered a time of spiritual concentration and special rituals.

"There are examples in different traditions. For example, in Buddhism, the full moon is associated with important days for meditation and spiritual practices. In Hinduism, the full moon also has significant holidays and rituals related to the worship of teachers, purification and worship of deities," Grokhotova said.

In modern practices, the astrologer added, the full moon is often used as a guide for personal actions and symbolic rituals. According to her, during this period, people are more likely to plan the completion of cases, practice meditation or turn to familiar spiritual techniques.

"In modern practices, the full moon is more often used to outline a plan for the end of the month, get a haircut so that the hair grows thicker, make a layout on the cards, conduct meditation or practice the tradition in which a person finds himself. But it's not necessary to make a big ceremony out of it. Sometimes the best ritual on a full moon is just to go to bed on time," says the expert.

But important conversations, love dates, negotiations with management and business partners, according to the astrologer, should be postponed to another day, as emotions during this period may manifest themselves more sharply. It is also better to hold off on major purchases, investing money, signing documents, and making important arrangements.
