The Foreign Ministry announced that NATO was going beyond its responsibility

The North Atlantic Alliance has gone beyond its original mandate and has not hidden this fact for long, according to Vladislav Maslennikov, head of the European Affairs Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maslennikov said in an interview with Izvestia that «NATO has gone beyond its responsibility. It has not been hiding this fact for a long time.» He added that no region has benefited from NATO’s presence.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that 42 countries, including partners from the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific, will participate in the alliance’s summit in Ankara on July 7-8. According to Bloomberg, NATO plans to invite foreign ministers from Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates to the meeting. This move is part of NATO’s plan to strengthen its presence in the southern region, which includes countries like Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Croatia, Albania, and Montenegro.
