- The Lithuanian president almost named the Polish prime minister after Disney's Donald Duck
On June 25, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, speaking at a press conference of the leaders of the eastern flank of NATO, made a reservation in the name of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and almost called him the same as the legendary Disney anthropomorphic drake Donald Duck.
"Dear Donald, dear colleagues! First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Donald Dusk...Thank Tusk for calling us together," he said.
At that moment, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo and Tusk himself, standing on either side of Nauseda, turned sharply in his direction. The latter, hearing the Lithuanian leader's mistake, pursed his lips, shifted his weight from one foot to the other and involuntarily made a sharp movement forward towards the lectern behind which he was standing. Subsequently, he looked down from the speaker.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also made a public mistake on April 23, addressing the Congress of Deputies. Then he accidentally called Catalonia, an autonomous community within the kingdom, a country. He expressed confidence that the government would recognize the rights in the future and make these two supposedly sovereign entities better states.
