Despite the active development of technology, artificial intelligence (AI) cannot yet fully compete with specialists in "helping professions." This opinion was expressed by psychologist Yuri Kudryavtsev in an interview with Izvestia on June 27.

"The main reason for this is a lack of empathy: the machine is only capable of imitating emotions, but not empathizing. When you communicate with any bot, you realize after a second that it is not a human being, and you begin to feel lonely," the specialist explained.

A mechanical unsubscription instead of emotional support can be perceived as rejection and have tragic consequences, the source warned.

"Nevertheless, it is impossible not to recognize the benefits of AI in the tasks of questionnaires and testing, as well as its important role in decoding medical images," the expert noted.

At the same time, he is confident that artificial intelligence will not soon displace an ordinary psychologist. The lack of real empathy, characteristic of live communication, will not give the person who turned to the chatbot the desired effect.
