The Russian Foreign Ministry spoke about efforts to return the diplomatic property of the Russian Federation to the United States

Moscow is making efforts to return its diplomatic property to the United States, and this topic is being seriously and harshly raised in its dialogue with Washington. This was announced on June 25 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry continues to make efforts to return six objects of Russian state property, <...> which are located in the United States. Despite their diplomatic status, which guaranteed them immunity, [they] were captured by the American authorities between 2016 and 2018," Zakharova said.

According to her, the issue of the return of Russian property is "constantly and harshly" raised in dialogue with American representatives. At the same time, she noted that the US State Department has not yet responded in any way to the appeal of the Russian Federation on the subject of Russian confiscated diplomatic property.

In the progress of the dialogue: the Russian Federation and the United States remain committed to restoring the work of embassies

The suspension of the issuance of immigration visas to Russians does not affect this process.

Yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia and the United States would not be able to reach a consensus on a common agenda yet, but there was a chance to agree on individual issues. At the same time, as he clarified, the work of Moscow and Washington has always been conducted with mutual respect.
