Production of passenger cars in Russia increased 1.5 times in May

In May, 51.6 thousand passenger cars were produced in Russia, which is 47.4% more than at the end of last spring. In just five months, the production volume amounted to 300,000 vehicles, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year. This follows from a recent Rosstat report published on June 24.

Truck production in May increased by 5% compared to the same month last year and reached 9.4 thousand vehicles. In five months, output decreased by 19.1%, to 47.3 thousand units.

The production of buses with a gross weight of more than 5 tons amounted to 731 units in May (+1.8%), and 3,422 units in five months (-10.4%). Buses weighing less than 5 tons — 857 units. in May (-5.3%) and 3,589 units in five months (-45.5%).

In addition, the volume of production of internal combustion engines for motor vehicles in late spring decreased by 11.3% (12.6 thousand units), and in January-May — by 23.9% (68.1 thousand units).
