Russians' funds in banks decreased by 0.5 trillion rubles in May

The total amount of Russians' funds in banks in May 2026 decreased by 0.5 trillion rubles (to 67.6 trillion rubles) after a significant increase of 1.7% in April. This was reported on June 24 in the information and analytical material of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation "On the development of the banking sector of the Russian Federation in May 2026."

"Household funds decreased (-0.5 trillion rubles, -0.8%) after a significant increase in April (+1.7%). Balances decreased both on current accounts (-0.3 trillion rubles, -1.4%) and on term deposits (-0.2 trillion rubles, -0.4%)," the Central Bank said.
