The case of Diana Shurygina. Why was the blogger put under house arrest?
A court in Moscow has placed Diana Shurygina under house arrest until July 19 in a case involving the distribution of pornographic materials. The investigation conducted searches and seized the equipment. The case also involves Anastasia Ovsyannikova, a colleague of the blogger, and their manager Ludwig Krichker, who were also placed under house arrest. How the girl from the memes found herself in the spotlight again because of a sex scandal — in the Izvestia article.
A new round
• On June 16, the Troitskiy District Court of Moscow ordered house arrest for blogger and former participant of the TV show Diana Shurygina (after her marriage, Shlyanina) until July 19. The measure is related to the investigation of a criminal case on the distribution of pornographic content. She was also banned from using the Internet, texting and communicating by phone. Earlier, her address was searched.
• The investigation qualifies Shurygina's actions under paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — distribution of pornographic materials committed by a group of persons by prior agreement. This article provides for a penalty of two to six years in prison.
• In addition, Anastasia Ovsyannikova, Shurygina's partner (alias Nastya Kholod), and Ludwig Kreacher, the girls' manager, were placed under house arrest in this case until July 19.
• Shurygina was detained a few days before her scheduled trip to Bali. According to a friend, the blogger has been living in two houses lately, either in Moscow or Bali.
• A few weeks before the arrest, Shurygina's former roommate wrote a statement to the police that the girl had stolen about 2.8 million rubles from him. However, soon, according to the man, they called and "settled all the issues."
The essence of the matter
• According to the investigation, Diana Shurygina published her explicit photos and videos in paid Telegram channels, which were accessed by subscription. At the same time, after the election of a preventive measure, the sale of access to them did not stop: Izvestia was convinced that on June 17 it could still be purchased for 4,850 rubles.
• According to unconfirmed media reports, Shurygina also promoted an account on the OnlyFans platform. The case examines correspondence, payments, and possible accomplices, including operators, account managers, and administrators. This may enhance the qualification of organized activity. Experts must determine whether the content is pornography or relates to eroticism, while there is no clear universal definition of pornography in Russian law, and expert opinions often become decisive.
From the accused to the victim
• Lawyer, chairman of the board of "Advocate Premium" Timur Chanyshev admitted that Shurygina may change her status from the accused to the victim during the investigation. This is possible if the investigation confirms that she herself suffered from illegal actions, did not agree to the distribution of materials, or was involved in an illegal scheme by other participants.
• The lawyer also did not rule out a change in the qualification of the case. If it turns out that the publication of the materials occurred without the consent of the depicted person and affected the right to privacy, the investigation may consider signs of a crime under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on violation of privacy. Practice allows you to both change the charge and apply several articles at once if there are grounds.
• The final conclusions will depend on the evidence gathered. Shurygina's lawyer stressed that in such investigations, the initial version of the charges often changes significantly after all the circumstances of the case have been established.
Career in social networks
• Diana Shurygina became famous after airing on Channel One in the program "Let them Talk". There, a girl claimed to have been raped at a party in 2016 (at that time she was 16 years old) in Ulyanovsk and told the details of the night with the participation of 21-year-old Sergei Semenov. She described her alcohol consumption and used the phrase "on the bottom", which quickly spread on the Internet and became fixed in memes. Society was divided in its assessment of the story: some people supported Diana's version, while others questioned her words. The court found Semenov guilty and sentenced him to eight years in a high-security penal colony. The appeal later reduced the sentence to three years and three months. The man spent about one year in prison and was released early.
• After the scandal, Shurygina's family moved to Moscow, and Diana began actively developing social networks and building a media career. She participated in the show, published content and earned money from advertising. In 2017, she married Channel One cameraman Andrey Shlyanin and took his last name, but two years later the marriage broke up. After the divorce, she continued her public activism, and was also in a relationship with blogger Denis Rebrov. Later, she had an affair with businessman Svyatoslav Gusev. In 2025, the media wrote about wedding plans, but the couple broke up before the marriage was registered.
• After 2025, Shurygina's activity shifted towards closed digital platforms: her intimate videos began to be distributed in closed Telegram channels. The investigation linked this period with the possible formation of a criminal case.
• After his release, Sergey Semenov received a law degree and began working in the legal field. He publicly commented on the situation with Diana and stated his lack of interest in the past conflict. Against the background of Shurygina's criminal case, he joked about the possibility of participating in her defense as a lawyer.
What are the other defendants known for?
Anastasia Ovsyannikova, known as Nastya Kholod, was born in Khabarovsk. She has been modeling since she was in high school. Later, she moved to Moscow and began a career in digital adult content. She used social media and closed platforms to monetize subscriptions. According to open sources, her income from paid subscribers reached tens of thousands of dollars per month. The investigation believes that she participated in the filming and distribution of materials together with Shurygina.
• The girls' manager Ludwig Krichker holds German and Russian citizenship. He worked in entertainment and fitness, as well as doing stand-up performances and filming in films and commercials. The investigation links him to the organization and production of filming adult content. He was involved in coordinating work with models and the technical side of video production.
