FT reported on signs of a change in Trump's position allegedly noticed by Kiev

US President Donald Trump has recently allegedly "tended to strengthen support for Kiev," and may exert active pressure on Russia to end the conflict. This was reported by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper, citing senior Ukrainian officials.

The newspaper's interlocutor noted that "signs" of a change in Trump's position had already been noticed in Kiev.

According to the newspaper, Ukrainian officials said that after meetings between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Trump and other European leaders, progress had been made in the supply of Patriot interceptor missiles and licensing of Western weapons.

During a new telephone conversation, Putin and Trump discussed the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and agreed on the visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Russia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 18 that the G7 leaders used Zelensky's presence to put pressure on Trump, trying to make it look like he was in solidarity with their anti-Russian approaches. She also drew attention to the "manic progression" of similar statements from London, Berlin, Paris and Kiev. Zakharova noted that Moscow considers any ultimatum approaches unacceptable, but additional clarifications will be needed to draw conclusions about Washington's change in position.
