The Russian Foreign Ministry questioned the possibility of calling the ICC a normal court

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is hardly a normal body, as bribery is widespread there, specific orders are often executed, and scandals after scandals develop. This was announced on June 24 by Maxim Musikhin, Director of the Legal Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"They are all (ICC staff. — Ed.) they work with the money of the Europeans, this is actually a purchased justice. Corruption in its purest form. It is difficult to call it a normal court. We don't call it a trial. This is a political body that handles the execution of orders," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Russian side, as Musikhin explained, understands perfectly well what is happening in the "ugly" ICC, which is mired in corruption. Such a body that allows bribes, as he stressed, should first of all take care of itself.

On the same day, the ICC recommended the dismissal of Prosecutor Karim Khan. They called for such steps to be taken because of his inappropriate behavior towards one of his subordinates. The final decision on Khan's future fate as the ICC prosecutor should be made by 125 States parties to the Rome Statute at a special session of the Assembly of Member States of this body.

Khan was suspended from work on June 8. The next day, it became known that facts of "serious misconduct" and "serious violation of official duties" had been established against him.
