Earthquake of magnitude 5 was registered in Kamchatka

An earthquake of magnitude 5 was registered in the afternoon in the Kamchatka Territory. The epicenter was located in the waters of the Avacha Bay.

According to the KamchatkaMedia news agency, local residents felt a jolt of up to 3 points. The epicenter was located 161 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and lay at a depth of 14.6 km.

No tsunami threat has been announced.

From June 15 to June 21, 46 earthquakes were registered in the region. Four of them were felt in populated areas. As a result of one of the earthquakes, a tsunami threat was declared, but the forecast did not materialize.

On June 22, it was reported that ten earthquakes had been recorded in the Black Sea. The epicenter of the most powerful quake was located 30 km from Sevastopol.
