In Russia, a rapid decline in the number of bees could be the beginning of a serious environmental disaster. This was announced on June 24 by an apologist, Candidate of Biological Sciences, senior researcher at the Institute of Developmental Biology. Koltsova RAS Dmitry Boguslavsky.

"If in the 2000s there were more than 10 million bee colonies in the country, now there are less than 4 million of them (in one family there are about 50 thousand bees in summer, about 20 thousand in winter). There are not enough bees for both the natural flora and the crops planted by humans," he told TASS.
