The servicemen shared the details of the liberation of the village of Priyut in the DPR

The liberation of the settlement of Priyut in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) allowed the Russian Army to reach the rear of the enemy's key defensive line. The details of the liberation of an important village on June 24 were told to Izvestia by soldiers of the 102nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 8th Army as part of the Center group.

According to senior gunner Alexei Ivanov with the call sign Kalmar, the most difficult stage of the operation was the very path to the village. According to him, the promotion took a lot of effort from both the staff and the leadership. The commanders with the call signs Danube and Bes went without sleep for days, coordinating the advance of the attack aircraft using drones, tracking potential enemy shelters around the clock.

At the same time, Kalmar pointed to a drop in the morale of the Ukrainian forces: when in contact with fire, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) often prefer to retreat without a fight. The fighter explained that now they have to be resisted mainly by the forcibly mobilized, who seek to save their lives and flee, and in case of resistance, they are eliminated.

"They're afraid and they're leaving. The line-up is no longer the same as it was in previous years. They are mostly mobilized, russified men who want to live, so they choose life and run away. And if we take someone by surprise, we destroy them," he told Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin.

For the shooter with the call sign Taiwan, who arrived at the front line in January, storming the Shelter turned out to be the first such operation. He moved to the facility in pairs, but after injuring his partner, he continued to complete the task alone. The soldier said that he took refuge in an empty house, where he soon heard a foreign language. A group of Ukrainian soldiers was moving towards him and noticed the fighter at the last moment.

"I was faster, destroyed them and moved to another point. He was watching, then he started to move back and was wounded. During the "rollback", I noticed a dugout in a wooded area, and it was decided to throw a grenade. "I've finalized it, I won't say how many of them there were, two for sure," recalls Taiwan.

The liberated village of Priyut is located 10 kilometers southwest of Druzhkovka and west of Konstantinovka. The establishment of control over this point opened the way for Russian units to the rear of the key defensive line of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, connecting four large fortress cities: Konstantinovka, Druzhkovka, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk.

The commander of the assault platoon with the call sign Sour noted that the units managed to approach the positions unnoticed and gain a foothold in secret, after which the fighters distributed the targets and began to carry out tasks.

"The shelter is one of the settlements that is located on the bypass road from the flank of Konstantinovka. The capture of this and the following settlements will make it possible to completely cut off Konstantinovka from enemy supplies and take it under control with the least losses," said the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Cosmos.

The battalion commander of the 78th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign DZ said on June 22 that the southern side of the village of Konstantinovka in the DPR had come under the full control of Russian troops. He added that the main difficulties in advancing are related to the dense mining of territories. According to him, the enemy uses mines and tripwires of various types, setting up barriers, including in the rear of their own units, to stop their retreat.
