The season of chanterelles and strawberries has begun in St. Petersburg
The chanterelle and strawberry harvest season has started in St. Petersburg. Experienced lovers of "quiet hunting" have already boasted about their catch on social networks, reports 78.ru on Tuesday, June 23rd.
"The forest is dry, it's already cracking. There are many foxes! But we need rain, they will grow up — it will be possible to mow with a scythe," said a local resident.
The townspeople also celebrate the good harvest of strawberries in the St. Petersburg forests.
"I found her. 5 liters in 3 hours. This is the first time in my life such a gathering. The aroma is bombastic," the berry hunter boasted.
At the moment, the main catch is being collected in the south of the region. The ripening of berries and mushroom edges in the north is still expected.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that prices for mushrooms, both wild and processed, are expected to rise in Russia in 2026. The cost of products is under pressure from logistics, rising costs and a shrinking production base.
