The probability of a tornado in the Kurgan region is estimated as low. At the same time, it is worth waiting for showers, thunderstorms and squally winds, said forecaster Ilya Vinstein.

"The main epicenter of the storm is expected to be north of the Kurgan region, so the probability of a tornado in the Trans—Urals is much lower," the expert explained.

He added that during a thunderstorm, there may be squally wind increases up to 15-20 m/s.

According to the <url> news agency, earlier amateur weather forecasters from the Meteodnevnik community suggested after the devastating tornado in the Sverdlovsk region that tornadoes and hurricanes could come to Kurgan.

According to meteorologists, the territory of the region falls into zones of minor and increased risks. The last time a powerful tornado was observed in the Kurgan region was in 2017. The main impact fell on the village of Maloe Pesyanovo.
