The Supreme Court of Russia will study India's experience in the digitalization of justice. This was announced on June 23 by the chairman of the court, Igor Krasnov, following a meeting with his colleague from India, Surya Kant.

During the talks in the Russian Armed Forces building, Krasnov told his Indian partners about the Justice Online project, which provides citizens with electronic access to the judicial system. He also noted that the Russian side is watching with great interest the implementation of the Indian Digital India initiative, which has become the basis for the technological modernization of the judicial system of the republic.

"Taking into account India's BRICS presidency, it is important to make full use of the potential and resources of the BRICS countries to ensure global stability and security for the benefit of our peoples. <...> Only through joint efforts can we put a reliable barrier to the challenges and threats facing the world community," Krasnov said.

He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have repeatedly noted the resilience of their strategic partnership to external challenges. According to Krasnov, Moscow and New Delhi are actively cooperating through the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Head of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation also spoke about the leading role of the Lebedev Russian State University of Justice in the training of judges and suggested organizing an exchange of educational visits.

At the meeting, the chairmen of the supreme courts of Russia and India also signed a memorandum of understanding, the first document of this level in the history of relations between the supreme courts of the two countries.

"This document, in my opinion, will significantly expand all areas of our cooperation, including the exchange of best judicial practices, judicial experience, and will also give us the opportunity to conduct joint scientific and educational events," Krasnov said, commenting on the signing of the memorandum.

In conclusion, he added that the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation is open to the exchange of experience between judges from India and Russia.

Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan and Director of the Kenya Criminal Prosecution Service Renson Ingonga signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17. The meeting was held in the building of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. The heads of the supervisory authorities of the two countries discussed key aspects of Russian-Kenyan cooperation. Separately, Gutsan and Ingonga discussed the fight against transnational crime, joint efforts to search, arrest and return criminal proceeds from abroad.
