Russian mixed martial artist Alexander Emelianenko has been hospitalized due to health problems. The athlete announced this on June 23 on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

"I'm in the hospital, I have minor back problems, I'm being treated," the athlete said, lying on a hospital bed.

In 2025, Emelianenko already underwent spinal surgery. After surgery, the 44-year-old athlete was forced to use a wheelchair for some time.
