Sales of plug-in hybrid cars increased by 125% in Russia
In the first five months of this year, 24.6 thousand plug-in hybrid passenger cars (PHEV+EREV) were sold in Russia, which is 125% more than in January-May last year. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on June 23.
The Voyah brand will remain the leader of this segment, with hybrid sales totaling 6,407 units. Her bestseller is the Russian—built Voyah Free crossover (5,102 units).
The Geely brand is in second place with 1,400 plug-in hybrids sold. The best—selling models are the officially supplied EX5 EM-I crossover (2,713 units) and the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 (1,195 units), which are imported through alternative channels.
The third brand in the ranking in terms of sales volume was the Russian Evolute (3405 units), whose only hybrid model is the i-Space crossover. Next are the brands Lixiang, GAC, Lynk & Co, Exeed, Zeekr, BMW and Wey, completing the top ten.
The day before, the Russian brand Esteo announced the launch of a new large hybrid six-seat crossover Exlantix ET8. It is equipped with a serial hybrid propulsion system (REEV), which allows you to drive over 1,000 km without stopping to recharge/refuel.
