Three women desecrated the memorial to the fallen WWII soldiers in the Yaroslavl region

In the Yaroslavl region, three residents desecrated a monument to the fallen soldiers of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in the village of Borisoglebsky. This was reported on June 23 in the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"At night on June 19, 2026, three local residents, being intoxicated, near the monument-memorial to the fallen soldiers, located in the village of Borisoglebsky, Yaroslavl region, committed desecration of the memorial structure by their actions," the Maks messenger says.

The investigators intend to apply to the court for a preventive measure. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. Investigative actions are currently underway and all the circumstances of the incident are being established.

On May 29, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region opened a criminal case into the desecration of the memorial complex, which perpetuates the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland. The attackers lit cigarettes from the flame at least twice, which desecrated the memorial site.
